April update

Thank you to our Volunteers!

Thanks to our April volunteers and art project helpers! You were amazing! This month, we made beautiful photo frames (with photos of the kids taken from last session) using none other than popsicle sticks. So easy to do yet so much fun! And, the kids continue to improve their reading skills. We are blessed to be working with such a great group of kids.

* Angelique and her class for donating all those wonderful books to the kids!

May Volunteer Information

Date: May 2, 2009 (Saturday)
Time: 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. (volunteer orientation from 9:00 to 9:30 a.m.)
Place: Student Learning Center, Lake Avenue Church
RSVP via the monthly evite. E-mail KRS if you would like to be added to the evite. We are excited to have the Done in a Day committee (of the Junior League of Pasadena) come out and help us lead the art project in May.

Advisory Board

Finally, we are still looking for a few good men and women to join our Advisory Board. In particular, we are looking to fill these positions:

(1) Fundraising Director
(2) Finance Director
(3) Marketing Director
(4) Community Outreach Director
(5) Site Coordinator

Thanks to those who have indicated your interest. We will be setting up a meeting in May to discuss how you can get more involved. E-mail us if you are interested in joining the Advisory Board.
