Highlights from our March Program!

In March, our speaker at Villa 500 was Mayra Ramirez of the Braille Institute and our speaker at Jackson Elementary was Christina Chavez of the Braille Institute.  Both speakers showed the children how to write their names in Braille, explained how blind people do things that people who can see simply take for granted, and showed off all the tools that blind people used to live full and fulfilling lives.  The children appreciated how important reading is and asked many questions about all the tools that blind people use to live their lives.  They even took home some Braille alphabet papers and worksheets to practice with at home!  Our next program will be April 1st.  Please click the 'Get Involved' tab if you would like to volunteer.
